Pavings
A natural stone path now winds its way around the matured garden. We have also built raised planters out of 'Anstone' to match existing borders and walls around the garden. The pointing shown here is still wet as the picture has been taken immediately afterwards. This will dry and cure in a matter of a day or so.
An old concrete patio was replaced here with natural stone paving, cut to fit up to the existing walls. Natural stone is also used as coping which doubles up as comfortable seating.
A driveway laid in natural stone sets makes a very impressive alternative to block paving. This drive is superior to pattern concrete and block paving as it will not sink or crack under car tracks and will not grow weeds! Every driveway laid in natural stone sets has its own unique appearance as the size and colour of sets will vary. (as natural things do) This driveway will comfortably carry more weight and the stone will last the test of time.
One
of the standard designs of paving is the natural stone circle which can
remain on its own, or be incorporated into a larger patio to give added
interest. This circular patio can remain without the squaring off set which
is shown here. Different colours and sizes are available.
A random pattern of natural stone paving encased in railway sleepers to alleviate the height difference between the damp course of the house and the sloping garden.
Here
we have laid a path out of natural sandstone surrounded by Scottish red
gravel to give a welcome feel to the patio area.
An
old 'pre-cast paving' patio was here before we laid this natural stone replacement.
It was dark and shabby before, now bright and full of interesting natural
colour, making a small area look larger, a total transformation.
A
natural stone path in buff colour leading to a meandering path incorporating
a cobbled seating area surrounded by plumb broken slate.
A
medium sized patio, paved with four different sized slabs running into a
newly turfed lawn. Westerly facing it is ideal for summer evening barbeques
as this area is in the sun until late evening.
This
picture shows a good example of colour combination for a small entrance
path. Grey with dark red cobbles/sets. Also available in buff and can be
mixed accordingly.
