General Landscaping
A
complete transformation of a blank canvas belonging to a recently built
house. The natural stone paving here blends in with the modern brickwork
of the property. To add interest the eye is drawn to the raised lawn and
natural stone pathways which link key areas of the garden.
A low maintenance garden which used to be grass! Raised paved area from fossil mint natural stone surrounded by golden flint gravel and with various architectural planting.
A
mixture of natural stone, turf and new railway sleepers amongst dry stone
walling on two levels makes an old cottage garden come to life.
View pictures before the garden was transformed. As you will
see the garden looked like a building site after the cottage
had been extended.
A
garden with an embankment can be transformed into an interesting tiered
landscape, providing the perfect stage for many attractive features including
cosy seating areas, water features, array of planting and effective lighting
to bring these features to life at night.
Here,
original features have been retained and the garden is designed with low
maintenance in mind. A large turfed area is practical for their young family,
also incorporated is a raised planter and a contained play area with play
grade bark chippings.
A
raised timber decking area housing a timber swing seat provides the perfect
place to view the entire garden which catches the evening sun. The nearby
self contained water feature cascades over a natural stone boulder seated
in a raised bed created from original railway sleepers. Blue slate surrounds
various grasses within this bed and both features are lit effectively by
low voltage halogen rock lights. At the foot of the newly laid turf is a
natural stone patio of four different sized slabs, positioned in random
pattern & boasting a profusion of natural colour.
An
alternative to a grassed front lawn. An octagonal centre feature with boulders
and oak logs (conveniently felled by strong winter winds) surrounded by
alpine planting and ornamental grasses. To the side, a natural stone cobble
border with broken slate and dwarf alpine conifer.
A
gently sloping garden was levelled and split into two tiers making the garden
more interesting and practical. Hard wearing turf was laid for regular use
and a natural stone patio was given privacy by new decorative fence panels
above an existing low wall.
